1981 Crown, Commemorating the Royal Wedding

Coin issued by the Royal Mint to mark the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer - the first ever Royal Wedding commemorative coin! Their profiles are on the obverse, with Queen Elizabeth II's portrait on the reverse.

The 5 shilling crown was a mainstay of British coinage for several centuries. When it fell out of favor during the 19th century - because it was quite heavy and big in size - it was mostly used as a commemorative coin, marking special events.

This one is uncirculated, still in a protective case made in England by Yorkshire Bank. The case itself is a bit scratched, but overall a nice item for collectors.
