Background
Often when a spectator is challenged to find the pea and is continually shown to be wrong hard feelings occur. At the least, both spectator and audience feel a general discomfort at being "fooled" over and over again. This routine is designed to eliminate those feelings and to make the Shell & Pea a magic effect with a triple surprise ending. Presented with levity and good humor this routine can be a reputation builder.

Effect - The age old three shell con is described and demonstrated using three walnut shells and a pea. The performer tells how he lost his memory at this time. An audience assistant is brought in and his money is put at risk. In the end the pea magically disappears leaving two super-large peas in the assistant's hands, the shell covering the pea is found to be solid and the money chages to a souvier of the performance.
