Karate Coin by Ed Ripley

A half dollar is cleanly shown. It can even be passed out for inspection. The magician holds the half dollar cleanly on the fingers of the left hand. The spectator is told that this is not a magic trick, instead it is a display of skill and strength. The spectator is asked to choose heads or tails. After a few practice tosses, the magician throws the coin into the air. With the right forefinger extended, he pierces the coin. After a few seconds to "recover from the pain", the magician shows both sides of his right hand and removes the coin with his left. The pierced coin reveals the spectator's choice.
