"This routine was a highlight in the act for which I earned the $2,000.00 prize at the 1993 Las Vegas Desert Seminar "Improv Magic Challenge." In my research, I came across several methods for producing the Knife (or Pencil) through the Handkerchief effect. In a set of lecture notes by Jerry Andrus, there was a very interesting gimmick which he used for a Knife through Tablecloth effect. I decided to combine the two effects, I changed the handling, then I modified the gimmick so that any color or pattern of material can be used in a moments notice."
Effect: A table knife visibly cuts through an ordinary cloth napkin. Instantly, the napkin is shown to be completely unharmed!
