Introduction & Effect: This begins as a simple hand to hand transposition of four half dollars, but from there truly unexpected things begin to happen. After the transposition, the four halves are "rolled down" between the left fingertips as in the popular flourish. Now, the right hand merely strokes each coin in its position and each coin changes to a copper English penny! Then they are changed back to silver in a startling and very visible nature and tossed out for examination, if so desired. This is a very pretty routine, however it requires a great deal of skill with coins. The flourish alone is most difficult to do, especially left handed, and it must be done as such for this routine. You could just place the coins between the fingers, but it would weaken the effect immensely.
